I was born in Syracuse, NY but only lived there briefly. My K-12 years were spent in a town called Bethlehem on the outskirts of Albany, NY where my father was the school superintendent (I wonder where I got my love of education from). Growing up I played soccer, lacrosse, ran track and played the flute in the band. My small amount of leisure time was spent playing in the woods by my house, reading R.L. Stine and the Baby Sitters Club and being a big sister to my two younger brothers. We also spent every summer splitting our time between my grandparent's house on Canandaigua Lake and our second home on Cape Cod. Canandaigua Lake is where I learned how to water ski!

My Educational career started in the Bethlehem Central School District where I graduated high school. I spent the summer after my senior year as a camp counselor. It was then that I realized my passion of working with children. I went on to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

My husband and I left all of our friends and family 5 years ago because of our passion for teaching. He is a Social Studies teacher at Holly Grove Middle School. After a substantial amount of research we decided Raleigh was the place for us! We do not regret our decision for a minute. Some of the last winters in the Northeast have helped to cement our decision. Our favorite place in the world is Cape Cod, which is where we got married three years ago! My parents retired to Eastham, Ma. We visit the Cape several times a year and some of our favorite activities are fishing, kayaking, clamming, boogie boarding, swimming and most importantly BEACHING IT!! What I most enjoy is spending time reading, cooking (I am a self proclaimed master chef), hiking and relaxing by the pool! We also love playing with our 3 animals. We have 2 cats- Levon and Bella. We just got a puppy named Allie from Peak Lab Rescue.

We are expecting our first child, a little boy named Henry, at the end of November!

Now that you know all about me, I can’t wait to learn more about your kiddos! I love teaching Second Grade and I can’t wait to meet everyone!
